Zombie Trapper
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Zombie Trapper is an arcade game where you're the only man left standing to eradicate the zombie vermin. Survive as long as possible, and history will remember you.
Controls
Move using the WASD keys on your keyboard. Collect coins. Place traps with your mouse and build them by pressing the E key quickly when you're on the trap.
Authors
Zombie trapper is a father-son project we created for GameDev.tv Game Jam 2024.
Louis Roux
My 7-year-old boy who drew the sprites, recorded the sound effects and contributed to the game design.
It's the first time he's used a computer, and I'm very proud of him :)
Raphaël Roux
Louis' father and developer of the game.
It's the very first time I've used the Godot engine. I was working with Unity before, and I'm learning Godot for the past few weeks, it's a very good engine, I'm having a lot of fun.
Assets
We used two assets that we didn't make ourselves for this project.
- m5xT font by Daniel Linssen
- Anxiety and Cyber city 2-B from Mystery music collection pack 1 by ansimuz
Thanks to them for making this material available.
Software
- Godot 4.2.2 (mono) for the game engine.
- Aseprite 1.3.6 for the sprites.
- Audacity 3.5.1 for the sound effects.

A very nice game! I survived a total of six minutes.
Quite addictive gameplay that speaks to my need to build stuff.
Glad you liked it! The game is currently rated for a jam, I'll continue to develop the concept after the rating period :) All your ideas are welcome!
Hi Louis and Raphael, congrats on the great effort <3
Would you consider making Zombie Trapper for Itch's browser?
I live in a country with slow internet, so 279 MB took a bit of time, and Microsoft Defender SmartScreen flagged the file for protection :(
Hi Chris, thanks for your comment!
I'd like to export the game for browser but I can't do it because I made the game using Godot with C# and I didn't know that it was not possible with Godot 4.2.2. I'll do it when possible. In the meantime I certainly can do something about the build size that sounds quite big to me too. I don't know if I can do something about Win Defender, I have to make some research. Thanks again <3
yay thanks for your comment! I'm still here tuning in ^.^ looking forward to any updates :)
